Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Software & Services, based in Hawthorne, CA, on-site only. The role focuses on indirect procurement, supplier management, and cost-reduction initiatives across software and services categories.

Key responsibilities include strategy development, supplier relationship management, and complex contract negotiations. Requires an advanced degree (or bachelor’s with extensive experience) and strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, or operations/supply chain management.
• Or a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in one or more of the listed areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet cost targets.
• Maintain internal stakeholder relationships to optimize value and ensure cost reduction programs.
• Drive change management across functions and with suppliers to achieve results.
• Perform advanced quantitative analysis to identify financial impacts and model cost improvements.
• Negotiate complex global contracts focusing on pricing, SLAs, and favorable terms.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking, and supplier analyses.
• Author contract documents with Legal; manage contract performance and related obligations.
• Manage preferred suppliers and implement KPI-based supplier development programs.
• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices to support categories.
• Lead efforts to reduce transaction volume across assigned categories.
