Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Software & Services in Palo Alto, onsite. Lead sourcing strategies, manage stakeholders, drive cost reductions, and negotiate global contracts to support SpaceX’s procurement objectives.

The role emphasizes analytics, market benchmarking, and collaboration with Legal to manage supplier performance. Strong communication and change-management skills are essential for fast-moving programs.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree and 3+ years' experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, or operations/supply chain.
• Alternatively a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in same fields.
• Experience with indirect procurement and supplier management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategy/Sourcing: Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and meet targets including payment terms, cash targets and cost savings.
• Stakeholder Management: Build internal relationships to optimize value and drive compliance to category strategies.
• Change Management: Partner across functions and with internal stakeholders to drive results and facilitate change.
• Analysis: Perform advanced quantitative analysis to identify financial impacts and cost improvements.
• Negotiate complex global contracts focusing on pricing structures, SLAs, and favorable terms.
• Research & Benchmarking: Conduct market analysis for assigned categories.
• Contract Management: Author documents with Legal; manage contract performance and applicability.
• Supplier Management: Manage preferred suppliers and KPIs; implement related programs.
• Tactical Purchasing: Place orders and resolve blocked invoices for categories.
• Efficiency: Lead efforts to reduce transaction counts for assigned categories.
