Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Sr. Manager, Purchasing to lead indirect purchasing across cloud, software, services and facilities. You will partner with engineering and operations, shape sourcing strategies, and drive continuous cost reduction while managing supplier performance and contracts.

You will hire and mentor a team, implement AI-enabled tools, and oversee purchase-to-pay processes, with travel up to 50% and a demanding, high‑velocity work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, supply chain, finance, or related field.
• 10+ years in purchasing, supplier management, or contract negotiations; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience leading indirect procurement and strategy development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage indirect purchasing across cloud, software, services, and facilities.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business needs.
• Own contract management and ensure supplier performance, on-time delivery, and rapid response to changes.
• Develop sourcing strategies reducing risk and delivering cost reductions.
• Conduct supplier and market analysis to build strategic supply plans.
• Present value propositions to executives on awards, cost reviews, and supply issues.
• Develop tools and processes leveraging AI to drive efficiencies.
• Lead talent development and mentorship within the team.
• Execute purchase orders and manage escalation for P2P issues.
