Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense seeks a Strategic Sourcing/Commodity Manager to define enterprise-wide sourcing strategies for critical commodities and spend categories. You’ll own category performance, drive negotiations, build supplier ecosystems, and align with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance and executives in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations, supplier agreements and sourcing initiatives.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or regulated environments.
• Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25–50% depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop multi-year category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, and sourcing decisions for assigned commodities.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, lead time, and terms.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance reviews.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, and PM to drive cost-out and lifecycle initiatives.
• Monitor market conditions and geopolitical risks to adjust sourcing strategies.
• Support supplier development to improve quality, delivery, and cost.
