Job summary

Spectrum Control, Inc. is seeking a Commodity Manager to lead a three-person team and drive commodity strategies across multiple manufacturing locations.

You will engage in major supplier negotiations, contracting, cost reduction, and risk mitigation to support aerospace, defense, and high-reliability markets. This hands-on management role requires strong commercial judgment, technical sourcing experience, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with urgent production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
• 7+ years of strategic sourcing or supply-chain experience, including 2+ years in people management.
• Experience sourcing technical components in aerospace, defense, electronics, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop commodity strategies aligned with business objectives and manage supplier performance.
• Lead and coach a team of commodity professionals with clear priorities and KPIs.
• Negotiate supplier contracts, conduct cost analyses, and manage supplier risk and escalation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Program Management on supplier transitions and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Standardize practices across Spectrum locations and drive cost reductions and process improvements.
