Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking a Sourcing Cost Analyst to build detailed “should cost” models for SKUs and drive cost optimization across the product portfolio.

You will partner with global sourcing, merchandise, private brands, and logistics to deliver actionable insights and support cost reduction initiatives. The role requires 4+ years in corporate retail cost analysis, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 4+ years of corporate retail experience in Cost Analysis, Commodity tracking, Finance, and/or Global Sourcing.
• Strong critical-thinking, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex cost data and build accurate cost models.
• Experience in product cost modeling and strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost drivers across various industries.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Product Cost Modeling: Develop detailed 'should cost' models for SKUs by analyzing inputs, processes, labor, overheads, currency, logistics, and other cost factors.
• Cost Model Benchmarking: Compare 'should cost' estimates to market data to identify savings and inefficiencies; refine models accordingly.
• Negotiation Support: Work with teams to evaluate proposals and assist in negotiation strategy with suppliers based on cost transparency and 'should cost' analysis.
• Commodity Trend Reporting: Monitor and analyze commodity data for trend fluctuations and risks; produce trend analyses.
• SKU Specification Evaluation: Validate SKU specs to identify opportunities for cost optimization and design modifications.
• SKU Specification Support: Assist with market bid SKU specification prior to go-to-market requests for proposals.
• Market research: Gather data from industry sources to improve model accuracy.
• Awareness and Training: Educate teams on should-cost methodologies and tools.
