Job summary

Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park, MN seeks a Director of SNAP Navigation and Care Center to lead SNAP outreach and care-center operations, guiding a diverse team to improve food access for neighbors.

You will shape strategy, partner with public agencies and cross-functional teams, ensure compliance, and drive high-impact programs across Minnesota.

The role requires strong leadership, public sector experience, and a passion for ending hunger.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of leadership in human services or related field.
• Deep knowledge of SNAP and other public benefit programs.
• Strong strategic planning to translate goals into processes.
• Experience coaching and developing salaried and hourly staff.
• Experience managing hybrid and remote teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with public officials.
• Proficient with MS Office 365 and data platforms.
• Excellent project management and resource tracking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
• Valid MN driver's license and travel across MN.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SNAP Outreach and Care Center teams, including design, budget, and continuous improvement.
• Set team performance milestones and monitor SNAP assist goals.
• Synthesize outcome metrics for leadership, grants, and press.
• Build relationships with state and county leaders on SNAP guidance.
• Develop outreach and service delivery strategies with capacity planning.
• Coordinate with IT/Data Analytics to maintain systems and prioritize investments.
• Collaborate with departments for funding, partnerships, and program alignment.
• Lead a collaborative, high-performing team including in-office and remote staff.
• Ensure civil rights, DHS data privacy, and security requirements.
