Job summary

Union Maritime is seeking a Manager, Transaction Analytics to deliver financial, commercial, and market intelligence analysis for strategic transactions in shipping. You will lead analyses of vessel acquisitions, disposals, and fleet investments, and build AI-enhanced models to support investment decisions.

Collaborating with senior leadership, you will develop market intelligence, manage a small analytics team, and mentor junior staff while ensuring rigorous due diligence and risk assessment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Shipping, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in shipping finance, transaction advisory, investment analysis, corporate development, maritime consulting, private equity, investment banking, or commercial shipping.
• Strong understanding of shipping markets and vessel economics.
• Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
• Experience evaluating vessel acquisitions, fleet investments, or strategic transactions.
• Proficient in applying AI tools
• Highly proficient in Excel, Power BI, and financial analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial and commercial analysis for vessel acquisitions, disposals, and fleet optimisation initiatives.
• Develop detailed financial models to assess investment opportunities and strategic transactions.
• Ability to embed AI into analytics workflows to accelerate insight generation, improve productivity, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Assess transaction risks, sensitivities, and return scenarios across varying market conditions.
• Support due diligence processes for acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments.
• Monitor global shipping markets, including freight rates, asset values, sale and purchase activity, and macroeconomic trends.
• Produce market intelligence reports and strategic recommendations for senior management.
• Maintain databases covering vessel values, transaction activity, charter rates, and competitor fleet developments.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the Transactions Analytics team.
