The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Senior Academic Advisor for the Department of Theatre and Dance on UT Main Campus. The role advises Theatre and Dance students, guiding degree requirements, policies, and program planning.

You'll manage a caseload, develop student pathways, coordinate major-specific initiatives, and communicate opportunities through multiple channels. The position emphasizes collaboration, equity, and service in a busy Fine Arts student environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years of experience working with college students or in an academic counseling capacity, or Master's degree and four years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Demonstrated ability to track multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor to a caseload of Theatre and Dance majors, establishing rapport and guiding degree requirements and policies.
• Assist students in identifying educational, life, and career goals and counseling students in distress.
• Coordinate major-specific student programs and liaise with administrators to ensure course availability and petitions handling.
• Draft communication and respond to inquiries; share Theatre and Dance information with staff and groups.
• Participate in team meetings and support cross-disciplinary Fine Arts student initiatives and service.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and university service.
