Job summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking a Benefits Analyst in the United States to analyze information and create financial deliverables for clients with standard to complex benefit programs, including fully insured and self-funded plans.

You will prepare analyses, model funding projections, review utilization, and benchmark trends for typical client sizes of 100 to 1,000 lives. You will negotiate with carriers for renewals and draft executive summaries with actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in employee benefits or related field.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a state Life & Disability insurance license.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for financial analytics for clients that are fully insured and self-funded. Typical client size is 100 to 1,000 lives.
• Prepare standard analyses with occasional customization.
• Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities.
• Perform technical analysis of group insurance contracts and financial arrangements.
• Serve as primary contact with insurance carriers. Negotiate and market coverage for new business quotes and renewals.
• Write client facing Executive Summaries with observations, conclusions, recommendations, and next steps.
• Prepare carrier and client written correspondence.
• Keep current on industry information, legislation, technology, and trends.
