Job summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking a benefits analyst to analyze information and create financial deliverables for clients with standard to complex benefit programs, covering fully insured and self-funded arrangements with typical client sizes from 100 to 1,000 lives.

The role involves preparing standard analyses, collaborating with carriers, explaining renewal projections, and producing executive summaries for clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in employee benefits or related field.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a Life & Disability insurance license.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
• Ability to manage and negotiate multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information and create financial deliverables for clients with standard to complex benefit programs.
• Prepare standard analyses with occasional customization (market reviews, renewal projections, claims utilization, benchmarking).
• Develop plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities.
• Negotiate and market coverage for new business quotes and renewals with carriers.
• Prepare renewal/new plan options with executive summaries.
• Write client-facing executive summaries with observations, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Maintain carrier relationships and validate renewal illustrations.
• Contribute to onboarding and peer review processes.
