Job summary

Safco, located in New Hope, Minnesota, seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure accurate US GAAP financial reporting and maintain the general ledger. You will post journal entries, close monthly books, support audits, and partner with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field and 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, with strong knowledge of US GAAP and ERP systems like JD Edwards, Encore, and OneStream.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, financial consolidation, technical accounting research, and audit procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely P&L and Balance Sheet accounting in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
• Maintain the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Perform month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
• Support annual audit and tax processes, including coordination with external auditors.
• Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and address audit inquiries.
• Monitor regulatory compliance and supporting annual audit and tax filing processes.
• Serve as the finance business partner to Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyze variances and provide strategic direction.
