Job summary

SA Recycling in Missouri is seeking a Buyer to procure and price ferrous and non-ferrous materials for new and existing accounts, under guidance from Regional/General Manager. The role includes developing strategies to source new materials and visiting customers to expand supply.

You will monitor market trends, ensure materials meet specifications, and handle supplier inquiries while maintaining timely reports and meetings to review results.

Qualifications

• Sales or marketing experience or equivalent education
• Knowledge of ferrous/non-ferrous scrap industry and processing & logistics
• Negotiation skills
• Ability to work under deadlines
• Strong communication abilities

Responsibilities

• Procure and price ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials within guidelines for new and existing accounts.
• Develop strategic plans for new business to generate new sources of ferrous and/or non-ferrous material.
• Visit and maintain current and potential customers such as demolition contractors, dealers, auto wreckers, construction projects, industrial accounts to generate and investigate new sources of ferrous and/or non-ferrous material.
• Monitor commodity market trends to inform purchase decisions and maximize profitability.
• Purchase scrap to meet volume and profitability targets.
• Ensure purchased materials conform to specifications.
• Investigate and resolve supplier complaints per SA Recycling guidelines and document actions.
• Complete and submit monthly reports and participate in reviews/meetings as required.
