Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an experienced Commercial Scrap Metal Buyer to support the Georgia region, responsible for growing and managing a book of business including commercial, industrial, and dealer accounts for ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Key duties include negotiating pricing, visiting suppliers, and maintaining records to maximize volume and profitability while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, Bachelor's preferred, related field; or 4 years Buyer experience in scrap metals recycling.
• Strong contract negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Experience in scrap metals recycling preferred.
• Demonstrated buying/selling skills and product knowledge.
• Ability to generate leads and close deals.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAI or similar software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals to grow margins and market share.
• Deepen market share by securing new commercial, industrial, and dealer accounts.
• Purchase based on current market conditions and pricing models set by GM and National Sales Team.
• Visit suppliers regularly to strengthen relationships and stay informed on market conditions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in purchase and processing.
