Job summary

Model Dairy LLC is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the site's safety program in California. The role reports to the HR Manager and focuses on policy development, training delivery, and compliance with OSHA and DOT requirements.

You will oversee safety audits, investigations, and process improvements, while coaching managers and employees on best practices to reduce injuries and ensure a safe workplace. This full-time position emphasizes hands-on leadership and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years safety/risk management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and HAZMAT awareness
• Strong communication, coaching and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and programs across the site
• Deliver ongoing safety training for employees and contractors
• Lead safety committees and management review processes
• Perform regular on-site safety audits and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate DOT compliance and driver file management
• Oversee incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Identify hazards and update job safety analyses (JSAs)
• Drive process improvements to reduce risks and injuries
