Job summary

Clark Associates, Inc. seeks a Director of Risk to lead enterprise-wide risk, insurance, and claims strategy across General Liability, workers' comp, cyber, and property programs.

The role partners with Legal, Employee Services, Operations, and Finance to align risk with business goals. You will oversee insurance programs, claims oversight, and governance, and develop KPIs while driving proactive risk mitigation and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, procurement, and management of corporate insurance programs.
• Develop innovative insurance structures and alternative risk financing.
• Oversee due-diligence for renewals, policy evaluation, and broker coordination.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on coverage terms and risk transfer.
• Partner with Legal to support negotiations and insurability.
• Lead management of claims including product liability and workers’ comp.
• Manage TPAs, counsel, and insurers for effective claims handling.
• Analyze trends to drive loss-control and program adjustments.
• Coordinate with Legal, HR, Finance, Operations to reduce enterprise risk.
• Lead risk team activities: identification, evaluation, remediation.
• Advise leadership on complex or emerging risks.
• Provide guidance on control documentation and automation.
• Support strategic initiatives with risk insights.
• Develop and maintain risk reporting, metrics, and KPIs.
• Strengthen risk culture through cross-functional engagement.
• Maintain standard insurance and risk clauses in contracts.
