Job summary

Clark Associates seeks a Director of Risk to lead enterprise-wide risk, insurance, and claims strategy, including product liability, workers’ compensation, and cyber risk, delivering governance and cost-efficient mitigation.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role oversees insurance design, claims oversight, risk remediation, and governance reporting; requires 10+ years of risk leadership and strong cross-functional collaboration, plus data-driven strategic guidance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in risk management, insurance leadership, or product liability/claims oversight.
• Expertise in risk management principles including assessment, controls, and monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation, property liability, management liability, cyber, emerging risks, and captive programs.
• Advanced analytical abilities to identify evolving risk trends.
• Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives with high attention to detail.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and influence leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, procurement, and ongoing management of all corporate insurance programs (GL, WC, auto, product liability, etc.).
• Develop innovative insurance program structures and alternative risk financing solutions.
• Oversee due-diligence for renewals and policy evaluations.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on coverage terms and risk transfer.
• Partner with Legal to support negotiations and insurability analyses.
• Lead management of product liability and workers’ compensation claims.
• Manage TPAs, external counsel, experts, and insurers for effective handling.
• Analyze trends to recommend loss-control initiatives and program adjustments.
• Coordinate with Legal, HR, Finance, Operations to implement enterprise risk reduction.
