Job summary

Power Construction is seeking a Director of Risk Management to lead enterprise-wide risk, insurance, and claims programs. You will partner with Operations, Safety, Legal, and Finance to drive proactive risk decisions and financial optimization across the business.

You will own program design, renewals, and claims, directing coverage for WC/GL/Auto/Professional/Cyber, while mentoring teams and coordinating with brokers to achieve favorable terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CRIS designation required.
• 10+ years of progressive construction risk/insurance experience with ownership of insurance placement, renewals, claims governance, and CCIP/OCIP.
• Proven executive-level communication and ability to lead diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Directs departmental strategy with the VP of Risk and mentors teams.
• Optimizes TCOR by structuring insurance programs, limits, and deductibles.
• Leads annual casualty insurance strategy, renewals, and broker partnerships.
• Directs the insurance portfolio (WC, GL, Auto, Umbrella, Professional, Cyber, SDI).
• Oversees claims management lifecycle and quarterly reviews to reduce severity.
• Oversees CCIP/OCIP performance and onboarding with Operations and Safety.
• Ensures subcontractor insurance compliance and training for PM/field teams.
• Negotiates complex contractual risk terms to limit corporate exposure.
• Supports subcontractor prequalification and enforcement of risk policies.
