Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) required.
• Five years of full-time experience in research development, strategy, proposals, grants, and contracts.
• Three years supervising and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Experience in defense, energy, or mission-driven research strategy and stakeholder relationships.
• Proven ability to develop and execute institutional research strategies with executive rigor.
• Research administration experience at a research-intensive university (R1).
• Advanced data management and analytics skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Translate research intelligence into actionable strategy and build multi-institutional consortia.
• Expand engagement with specialized, mission-driven funding streams.
• Supervise OSRI staff and coordinate with internal offices (Proposal Development, Core Facilities, Sponsored Programs, IP, Research Security).
• Drive portfolio expansion, capability mapping, and landscape analysis for new funding opportunities.
• Build high-level relationships with program managers, national laboratories, and industry partners.
• Oversee strategic intelligence and analytics, tracking legislation, budgets, and spending trends.
• Prepare executive briefs, policy reports, and RFIs for sponsors.
