Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience in research development, strategy, proposals, grants, and contracts.
• Three years of supervising, mentoring, and driving high performance across teams.
• Advanced proficiency in data management, analytics, and tools in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Experience with defense, energy, or mission-driven research strategy and executive‑level relationship building.
• Direct experience in research administration at a research-intensive university.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of multi-year strategies to expand specialized funding streams.
• Map institutional capabilities to agency needs and convene interdisciplinary teams for major funding opportunities.
• Build high-level relationships with program managers, national laboratories, and industry partners.
• Coordinate with research governance units to align operations for restricted or controlled research.
• Supervise OSRI staff and partner with relevant offices to ensure smooth transitions from strategy to proposals.
