Job summary

Georgia State University Department of Recreational Services is seeking a Coordinator, Recreation Center Operations to join the team at the Downtown Atlanta campus. This role oversees pool operations, safety, and facilities maintenance within the Student Recreation Center and collaborates with Aquatics and Building Services teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Recreation or related field with relevant experience; CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field with three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
• Master's degree in Recreation, Sports Administration, Hospitality Management or related field with 3-5 years of recreation management experience emphasizing facilities, operations, and administration.
• Experience in student development including hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, payroll, and evaluation.
• Operations experience including locker, informal recreation, equipment, and security management.
• Experience with software programs and technology knowledge.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certifications (or obtained within 3 months of employment)

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation and maintenance of the Student Recreation Center pools (Lap pool, Leisure pool, Spa) and manages pool safety per county code and university policies.
• Assist the Aquatics Coordinator with in-service training for lifeguards and chemical testing; manage pool equipment and inventory of chemicals.
• Coordinate with facilities, contractors and vendors to maintain facilities and equipment.
• Develop strategic maintenance plans, manage work requests, and prepare reports on facility improvements and purchases.
• Assist with facility events and reservations as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
