Job summary

Georgia Southern University in Statesboro seeks an Aquatic Center Supervisor to provide leadership, oversight, and supervision of the Aquatic Center and its programs, collaborating with university units, student organizations, and external groups.

The role manages 20–30 student staff, oversees pool operations and maintenance, drives program development, budgeting, and risk management to ensure safe, high‑quality aquatic experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in recreation, management, or related field required.
• Nationally accredited aquatic certification required.
• Three (3) or more years of related work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise 20–30 student staff including graduate assistants, lifeguards, and team leaders.
• Manage operations for indoor/outdoor pools, hot tub, sauna, and related systems.
• Establish the vision and values for the Aquatics Center and develop growth, safety, and efficiency strategies.
• Provide leadership in program development, budgeting, marketing, execution, and assessment.
• Purchase and maintain aquatic equipment, chemicals, and supplies inventory.
• Foster partnerships with campus and external organizations to support programs.
• Ensure risk management policies meet industry standards and are followed.
