Georgia State University’s Department of Recreational Services seeks an Associate Director, Recreation to lead facilities across multiple venues on the Atlanta campus. The role requires directing 12 full-time staff, coordinating with university facilities, and ensuring preventive maintenance and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience in collegiate recreation or facility management preferred.
• Ability to supervise full-time staff and manage budgets.
• Knowledge of liability issues, building systems, and ADA compliance.
• Strong communication and collaboration with university stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities management of all Department facilities and supervise 12 full-time staff.
• Coordinate with facilities, vendors, and University Facilities for maintenance.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans and annual facility reports.
• Manage facilities operation budget and supporting events and reservations.
• Serve as liaison with police, risk management, and other departments.
