Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Transaction Manager to oversee property transactions, leases, renewals, and related real estate activities. You’ll coordinate due diligence, documentation, and closing requirements to support business objectives.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience; a Senior level (7+ years) is also described. Strong negotiation, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration are essential in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, finance, project management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in real estate transactions, contracts, finance, or related business functions.
• 7+ years for Senior role in real estate transactions, portfolio strategy, or related business functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned acquisitions, dispositions, leases, renewals, and related real estate transactions from planning through execution.
• Coordinate due diligence, valuation inputs, approvals, documentation, and closing requirements.
• Negotiate routine to moderately complex business terms with landlords, sellers, buyers, brokers, and service providers.
• Partner with legal, finance, procurement, and business leaders to ensure transaction requirements are met.
• Track schedules, risks, and dependencies to keep transactions on time and within business expectations.
• Maintain transaction records, reporting, and controls to support governance and audit readiness.
