Job summary

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Four or more years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibilities, including demonstrated sales negotiation experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PVF materials and ability to understand pricing, supply, and contract terms.
• Proficient in computers and software applications.
• Strong communication and ability to transfer detailed knowledge in one-to-one or group settings.
• Willingness and ability to be on call for 24-hour service.
• Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the branch service area, with possible overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through analysis of the assigned territory to identify new customers and markets.
• Grow existing accounts through execution of a proactive sales plan with initiatives including focus on lost and declining business.
• Achieve maximum profitability by meeting or exceeding gross margin goals through effective negotiation.
• Deliver superior service through consultative sales, prepare quality materials, conduct demonstrations, and determine customer needs and provide solutions.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Branch/Regional teams to develop strategic territory plans and negotiate contracts.
• Ensure contractual compliance and address deviations in partnership with management and national accounts teams.
• Identify market threats and opportunities and communicate work in process accordingly.
• Develop product knowledge, pricing, and MRC Global systems and processes.
• Support delivery performance with the branch warehouse and keep customers informed of order status.
• Promote safety initiatives and demonstrate safety leadership.
