Job summary

MRC Global is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in La Porte, TX to drive revenue across oil & gas markets. You will manage prospecting, build customer relationships, and deliver technical solutions that meet customer needs.

This role focuses on growth, profitability, and long-term account retention in a competitive market. Responsibilities include negotiating terms, coordinating with Supply Chain, and traveling within the territory to maintain strong customer engagement and service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in customer service, inside sales, or warehouse roles with increasing responsibility.
• PVF materials knowledge and ability to assess pricing, supply, and contracts.
• Proficient in computer applications and CRM systems.
• Willingness to be on call and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business in the assigned territory through prospecting and lead generation.
• Grow existing accounts with proactive sales plans and target key projects.
• Negotiate to achieve gross margin goals and close deals.
• Provide consultative service, present material demos, and explain cost savings.
• Coordinate with Branch and National Accounts to implement sales strategies.
