Job summary

BNIM is seeking a Manager of Strategic Pursuits in Kansas City to strengthen business development strategy, guiding teams through pursuit lifecycle from pipeline to final interview. The role partners with Principals, Market Sector Leaders, and marketing to sharpen proposals and narratives.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in business development within A/E/C contexts, strong storytelling, and fluency with Adobe Suite.

Qualifications

• Interest in architecture and design as disciplines.
• Experience collaborating across design, technical staff, external partners and firm principals.
• Experience coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder efforts.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to synthesize pursuit intelligence into clear, actionable insight.
• Strong writing and storytelling instincts, with deadline pressure.
• Fluency with current technology and data tools, including Adobe Suite; knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor procurement sites, industry sources, and other opportunity channels for strategic pursuit leads.
• Initiate introductory meetings with partner firms, consultants, and new clients who reach out to the firm.
• Maintain records of leads, pipeline activity, and pursuit tracking.
• Share timely opportunity updates with Market Sector Leaders to support pursuit focus and next-step decisions.
• Facilitate the Go/No-Go process with Market Growth Leaders and Market Sector Leaders.
• Lead the bi-weekly Strategic Pursuits meeting.
• Coordinate proposal and interview teams, timelines, deliverables, and follow-through.
• Align proposal and interview narratives across design, technical, marketing and communications contributors.
• Monitor and report on pursuit investment against the annual pursuits budget.
