Job summary

Platte River Power Authority is seeking a Purchasing Agent to handle purchasing of materials, supplies, and spare parts for daily operations. The role includes maintaining warehouse inventory, cleanliness, and acting as SME for purchasing and warehouse software across assigned warehouses.

You will support operations, maintenance, and courier activities and work with internal and external partners to facilitate purchases.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working as a purchasing clerk, purchasing agent, or similar role in purchasing.
• Experience working with purchasing software and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work more than 40 hours a week when required.

Responsibilities

• Processes requisitions, purchases materials, follows up with vendors and requestors, and resolves problems during procurement.
• Locates vendors for materials and negotiates terms of sales.
• Maintains proper inventory levels and supports warehouse activities including issues/receipts and cycle counts.
• Arranges transportation for ordered materials and ensures timely processing of shipments.
• Serves as SME for purchasing and warehouse software and trains staff on systems.
