Greystar is hiring a Purchasing Agent to support operations by ordering materials and maintaining supplier relationships. You will place orders based on inventory needs, track shipments to the warehouse, and collaborate with warehouse and factory operations to ensure adequate product levels.

The role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company processes and policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing and supplier management.
• Ability to evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability and reliability.
• Strong negotiation skills and contract review.
• Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of supplier requirements and ensures processes are followed.
• Evaluates suppliers on price, quality, availability, reliability, and other criteria.
• Interviews vendors and visits suppliers’ facilities to learn about products and pricing.
• Requests cost proposals and negotiates contracts with legal department support.
• Uses inventory tracking to record stock levels and anticipate future needs.
• Verifies purchases against master list and suggests alternatives for expensive items.
• Coordinates with suppliers to schedule delivery and resolve shipping issues.
• Prepares and processes purchase orders and maintains records of transactions.
