Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support operations by ordering materials, managing supplier relationships and tracking shipments to the warehouse in Knox, PA. You will evaluate suppliers, request proposals, and negotiate terms with the legal team to secure favorable contracts.

Responsibilities include using inventory systems, maintaining records, and coordinating with factory operations and warehousing to ensure adequate stock levels. Competitive benefits apply to full-time roles.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of supplier requirements and ensures all processes and procedures are followed.
• Evaluates suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, reliability, and other criteria.
• Interviews vendors and visits suppliers’ facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing.
• Requests cost proposals and negotiates contracts and prices while working closely with the Company’s legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favorable.
• Utilizes inventory tracking system to record stock levels and anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
• Verifies purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products.
• Interacts with suppliers to schedule delivery times, verify product is shipped according to deadlines, and resolve shipping errors.
• Prepares and processes purchase orders and maintains records of all transactions, purchases, orders, receipts, records, and inventories.
• Collaborate with factory operations and warehousing to ensure sufficient product levels are maintained.
