Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor for Industrial Solutions to lead procurement at our Arden facility in Western North Carolina and oversee a transition to a new Hendersonville location. You will manage raw materials, components, and production supplies, focusing on cost, quality, and on‑time delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial purchasing with supervision experience; a Bachelor's in a related field is expected, CPM/CPSM a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or program/project management experience in industrial production purchasing
• 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management or equivalent required
• CPM/CPSM a plus
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, develop and supervise a team of buyers and purchasing staff
• Train, assign, and delegate responsibilities/projects
• Follow up on performance progress, audit work, and provide feedback to each team member
• Manage sourcing of materials to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Track and control BOM costs, especially during product launches
• Ensure on-time delivery and supplier capacity to support production schedules
• Coordinate program reviews, monitor progress, and manage risks
• Develop bid lists and support sourcing strategies aligned with company goals
• Identify cost-savings and improvement opportunities and address budget gaps
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain)
• Generate reports, action plans, and updates for leadership
• Oversee supplier performance, tooling, and launch readiness activities
• Support smooth transition from product launch to full production
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, audits, and company procedures
• Promote safe work practices and resolve safety issues
