Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking an organized Purchasing Specialist to support our growing operations in the Houston area. The role focuses on purchasing equipment, parts, materials, and supplies for sales, service, and installation teams, with emphasis on vendor coordination and timely procurement.

The ideal candidate will have purchasing/procurement experience, strong computer skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or procurement
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn ERP/P21
• Ability to manage multiple purchase orders and deadlines
• Excellent vendor communication and follow-up skills
• Experience with inventory and parts sourcing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Process and manage purchase orders and requisitions
• Purchase compressors, parts, fittings, piping, and service items
• Verify part numbers, quantities, pricing, and delivery dates
• Monitor open PO status and follow up with vendors
• Coordinate with Sales, Service, Warehouse and Project teams
• Obtain vendor quotes and negotiate pricing and delivery
• Maintain vendor records and purchasing documentation
• Identify shortages and communicate delays to teams
• Support month-end purchasing and invoicing reconciliation
