Job summary

Tate Americas is seeking a Purchasing Specialist at our Glasgow, KY facility to source materials, negotiate with suppliers, and support production schedules.

You will drive cost savings, manage supplier performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and quality. A manufacturing background and ERP experience are preferred to thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials aligned with production schedules.
• Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms for cost savings.
• Issue purchase orders and track status to ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and inventory teams.
• Maintain procurement records and supplier documentation.
• Resolve supplier issues and delays.
• Analyze market trends for cost reduction opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits and document internal controls.
