Job summary

Tate Inc. in Glasgow, KY is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee all activities in Shipping and Receiving, ensuring on-time shipments and accurate inventory entry. You will lead a team, coordinate with carriers, and maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

The role requires 5+ years in warehouse/shipping, prior supervisory experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required; forklift and overhead crane operation are

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Warehouse and Shipping experience.
• Previous supervision experience required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs. and maximum of 50 lbs.
• Must have current and valid Drivers' License.
• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper data entry of receiving material or shipment of material is entered into the inventory tracking system correctly.
• Coordinate and plan with trucking companies daily, weekly, monthly loads for competitive prices. Load and unload trucks properly and safely.
• Adjust inventory via negative balance sheets to ensure that inventory balance variances coordinate cycle counting results and reconciliation.
• Must possess and demonstrate good communication and telephone etiquette and skills.
• Coordinate customer returned material (RMAs). Track customer returned material from point of return to dispositions, completing all necessary paperwork.
• Assist Accounts Payable with invoice reconciliation when necessary.
• Lead and assign work to all associates in the shipping and receiving departments.
• Track attendance and vacation for associates in the shipping and receiving department.
• Able to work in a team environment to include relieving other associates in instances of breaks, absenteeism, vacation or other production requirements.
• Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
• Work with all required levels of associates to resolve variances, including material handling, inventory associates, team leaders and/or supervisors.
• Include communication with cost accounting, scheduling and all needed support associates.
• Ensure all employees follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
• Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
