Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing efforts at our Sheboygan Falls location. The role involves issuing POs, matching them with vendor acknowledgements, correcting PO details, and coordinating scheduling for manufacturing in a fast-paced, centralized wood product environment.

Qualifications

• Analytical and scheduling skills required for planning and inventory control.
• Strong MS Office skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Experience negotiating price, quality, and delivery with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Improve scheduling, inventory, and supply chain issues; focus on material receipt and transfer.
• Optimize scheduling process to improve material flow and customer satisfaction.
• Analyze product trends to optimize inventory at local manufacturing/distribution center.
• Coordinate with Branch Management, Sales, Central Buyers and customers to meet production needs.
• Maintain inventory accuracy in the local branch, including AP reconciliation and open PO lists.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers for quality, price and delivery of raw materials.
