Job summary

Northway Industries, a woodworking manufacturer in Pennsylvania, is seeking an organized Purchasing Assistant to support purchasing, pricing and inventory activities. You will focus on managing vendor credits, obtaining accurate pricing for sales estimates, and assisting with orders and cycle counts.

Responsibilities include tracking credits, verifying pricing and delivery data, maintaining records in the company system, and communicating updates to the team to meet quoting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and records.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage several requests and deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a professional approach when working with vendors and coworkers.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, ask questions, and follow issues through to resolution.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, email, and basic computer applications.
• Experience in purchasing, inventory, accounting support, or administrative work is preferred.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, woodworking materials, or ERP software is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage vendor credits: request, track, resolve discrepancies and apply credits.
• Obtain current material pricing for sales quotes, verify specs, quantities, freight and costs.
• Maintain pricing records and communicate changes to sales and purchasing teams.
• Prepare and place material orders; match acknowledgments to POs and verify details.
• Track open POs and follow up on late or overdue orders to adjust schedules.
