Job summary

John Wood Company in Oaks, PA is seeking a Buyer to procure materials, components, and outside services to support manufacturing operations. You will work closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, and Quality to ensure material availability and cost controls.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of purchasing experience, with familiarity in ERP/MRP systems. Strong organization, communication, and negotiation skills are essential to successfully support

Experience with ERP or MRP systems preferred.
Strong organization, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to manage competing priorities with suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Create and manage purchase orders for production materials, components, supplies, and outside services.
Review material requirements and coordinate purchasing priorities to protect production schedules; expedite as needed.
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, delivery dates, and terms.
Maintain supplier relationships and monitor delivery and quality performance.
Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve material issues and traceability concerns.
Maintain purchase order, supplier, pricing, and lead-time information in the ERP system.
Support inventory management and cost-saving purchasing improvements.
Resolve PO, receiving, and invoice discrepancies with suppliers and Accounting.
