Job summary

CoreWise Workforce Strategy Partners seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead materials, components, and services buying for manufacturing operations. You will partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Accounting to forecast needs, manage supplier performance, and reduce delays.

The role requires proactive leadership, detail orientation, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while driving cost savings and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience supervising purchasing teams and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for materials and services.
• Lead the purchasing team with clear priorities and accountability.
• Review requirements and align with production schedules.
• Issue POs; ensure pricing, quantities, delivery dates, terms are accurate.
• Monitor open orders and supplier commitments to prevent delays.
• Expedite critical materials and create recovery plans as needed.
• Maintain supplier communications on status, lead times, quality, and changes.
• Develop supplier relationships and negotiate terms for cost and delivery.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategic sourcing.
• Coordinate with Engineering on specs and substitutes.
• Work with Accounting on invoices and pricing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate ERP data and supplier records.
• Monitor KPIs: on-time delivery, price variance, shortages, lead times.
