Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven work experience as a purchasing officer or agent.
• Education: High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and adaptability to industry/vendor inventory management software.
• Core Competencies: Strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, general math proficiency, and fluent written/spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Vendor and contract management: research, negotiate, and maintain long-term relationships with vendors.
• Inventory and demand planning: forecast demand and set PO timing/quantities to maximize turns.
• Team leadership: supervise purchasing staff and set procedures.
• Cross-department coordination: align with warehouse and sales on pricing and supply.
• Analysis and reporting: perform cost analyses and track performance.
• Compliance and engagement: monitor laws, attend trade shows, travel to branches.
