Job summary

TPC Wire & Cable Corp. is seeking a Purchasing Expeditor to actively follow up with suppliers on open purchase orders, late deliveries, and returns.

This role connects Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse, Quality, and Accounting to ensure accurate delivery information and timely issue resolution. The successful candidate will maintain PO delivery dates in the ERP, support supplier documentation requests, and assist with RMA processing and compliance paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, expediting, customer service, supply chain, inventory, or manufacturing support preferred.
• Strong follow-up skills with ability to manage open items, deadlines, supplier commitments, and changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with suppliers, buyers, sales teams, customer service, and internal leadership.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with ability to maintain PO status, delivery dates, RMA documentation, and follow-up records.

Responsibilities

• Proactively follow up with suppliers on open purchase orders to confirm acknowledgements, ship dates, delivery status, and changes to commitments.
• Monitor late, past-due, and at-risk POs; elevate delays to buyers and planners as needed.
• Maintain accurate PO delivery dates and supplier status in the ERP system for reliable customer commitments.
• Communicate supplier updates to internal teams regarding backorders, expedited orders, and revised availability dates.
• Coordinate expediting efforts with suppliers to improve delivery performance and reduce shortages and interruptions.
• Support RMA processing by coordinating with suppliers, Quality, Warehouse, and Purchasing on returns, replacements, credits, and follow-up.
