Job summary

Phipps Houses is seeking a Purchasing Agent in New York to handle procurement for leasing and office supplies, manage vendor relations, and negotiate contracts. The role requires a BA or 5 years of procurement experience and familiarity with Yardi Voyager.

The successful candidate will perform to support the Purchasing Department, with strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. Salary 65–70k and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BA and/or 5 yrs procurement experience required.
• Experience with Yardi preferred.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and etc.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Take on additional or special responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and send out RFPs/RFQs for leasing and pricing agreements.
• Purchase commodities such as toner, paper, office supplies and equipment.
• Research vendors and conduct vendor reference checks.
• Negotiate contract terms and dollar values.
• Obtain W-9s from vendors and submit to Director of Purchasing.
• Manage inquiries and respond to Purchasing-related questions.
