Prince William County Government seeks an experienced financial accounting and reporting leader to become Assistant Director of Finance for Financial Reporting & Control (Comptroller). You will direct a diverse team, ensuring accurate month-end and year-end close, robust internal controls, and timely reporting across the County’s operations.

The role reports to the Deputy Director of Finance and oversees General Accounting functions, including Technical Accounting, Capital Projects, Capital

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED and 8 years progressive experience in financial accounting, auditing, reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Master’s degree preferred; CPA and ACFR experience a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Provide strategic leadership for the County’s Financial Reporting & Control team, including accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee General Accounting functions: Technical Accounting, Accounting Operations, Capital Projects, Capital Assets, Grants Accounting/Support.
• Coordinate ACFR/PAFR/audits and ensure US GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.
• Guide staff on accounting policies and liaison with auditors and regulators.
