Job summary

City of Somerville seeks a Procurement Analyst in Health and Human Services to oversee procurement projects with PCS, draft specifications, and manage timelines. The role focuses on cost-effective purchasing and compliance with laws, coordinating with leadership across departments to optimize vendor engagements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience, with MCPPO certification desirable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public procurement and invitation for bid and RFP processes.
• Ability to meet and interact with the public; communicate clearly in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the “go-to” person within HHS to manage and coordinate with the centralized PCS on all HHS procurement projects.
• Coordinates planning, forecasting, and assessment of HHS needs for goods and services.
• Assists in drafting scopes of work, purchase descriptions, specifications, and other procurement documentation.
