Job summary

The City of Somerville is seeking a Procurement Analyst within Health and Human Services to manage and coordinate centralized procurement projects with PCS, ensuring compliant, cost-effective purchasing across departments.

The role requires strong procurement knowledge, data analysis, and excellent communication; experience with MS Office and project management is essential. In-person, full-time position at City Hall with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public procurement and bid/proposal processes.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the “go-to” person within HHS to coordinate with the PCS on procurement projects.
• Coordinates planning, forecasting, and assessment of HHS needs for goods and services.
• Drafts and develops scopes of work, specifications, estimated quantities, and other procurement documents.
• Ensures purchases under contract threshold are documented with PCS and in Munis.
• Coordinates procurement timelines and scheduling with PCS and HHS managers.
• Represents HHS at pre-bid conferences and bid openings.
• Evaluates bids and quotes with PCS for best value.
• Develops reports from the MUNIS contract database with IT and Finance.
