Job summary

Washington National Cathedral seeks an Associate Director of Prospect Development to lead prospect research, portfolio analysis, moves management, and data integrity for a strong major donor pipeline. You will translate insights into actionable fundraising strategies and guide donor engagement across the fundraising cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of seven years in fundraising operations with emphasis on prospect research and management.
• Demonstrated proficiency with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Donor Perfect).
• Extensive research using iWave, Lexis-Nexis, Candid, and wealth screening tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on planning and executing a major gift prospect pipeline to meet fundraising goals.
• Oversee prospect research and moves management to support donor engagement across cycles.
• Develop and implement research procedures to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Safeguard donor confidentiality per AFP, APRA and Cathedral standards.
• Create reports/dashboards to share pipeline progress with leadership.
