Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated in Appleton, WI, seeks a Proposals Manager to lead the department that develops quotes for aerospace and defense opportunities with federal and commercial customers. You will coordinate inputs, ensure accuracy of labor, material, and NRE estimates, and prepare compelling proposals for review.

You will guide bid strategy, manage budgets, mentor staff, and communicate with customers throughout the bid process, delivering high-quality responses on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Industrial Engineering, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating or related field.
• Demonstrated project management experience—planning, budget, allocation of resources.
• Negotiation and conflict management skills coupled with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Ability to supervise employees, provide mentoring, and resolve issues.
• Excellent written and verbal skills; highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the receipt, preparation, and submittal of quotes to the review team for final review; includes cost, technical, and management proposals as required.
• Integrate proposal input from team members, edit and proofread final document for completeness, accuracy and quality; review labor, material and NRE estimates, rate structures and budgets for each bid.
• Be a key member of the final bid/quote review team to establish competitive guidelines and recommend strategy.
• Communicate to customers and internal staff during bid process and follow-up after award.
• Provide labor and material budgets upon award.
• Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members.
• Perform other assignments as required.
