Job summary

Future of Life Institute seeks a Special Projects Manager for the Communications Team to orchestrate multi-stakeholder, high-volume design and digital projects—from briefs through delivery. You will coordinate internal and external collaborators, shaping briefs and ensuring alignment with our mission.

You will manage external agencies, safeguard quality and accessibility, and drive product innovation for digital initiatives.

Qualifications

Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Track record of building or significantly improving delivery processes — intake, review, QA or approval workflows.

Responsibilities

Develop briefs translating stakeholder requirements into clear briefs, and push back when unclear or unscoped.
Oversee project performance with internal and external stakeholders to define success for each project.
Identify, onboard and manage agencies and contractors to fill skill gaps and deliver projects.
Own quality assurance: define done criteria, review against briefs and accessibility standards, and ensure final quality before shipping.
Product innovation: ideate and develop digital products to meet mission and objectives.
Run multi-month initiatives end to end, such as international creative contests.
Steward brand coherence by maintaining the design system across high-volume output.
