Job summary

Future of Life Institute seeks a Special Projects Manager for the Communications Team to oversee diverse, high‑volume design and digital work for a global audience. You will coordinate internal and external agencies from brief to delivery, ensuring brand coherence, WCAG standards, and timely outcomes.

You will report to the Director of Communications and drive multi‑month initiatives such as contests or awards, while shaping delivery processes and maintaining high-quality output across websites

Qualifications

• Based in a timezone between West Coast, USA and the UK (UTC-8 to UTC+1).
• Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects and align senior colleagues.
• Track record of building or significantly improving delivery processes (intake, review, QA workflows).
• Project management across design, communications and/or digital/web projects, including external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop briefs translating stakeholder requirements into clear creative and technical directions.
• Oversee project performance with internal and external stakeholders and define success metrics.
• Identify, onboard and manage agencies and contractors to fill skill gaps.
• Own quality assurance by reviewing deliverables against briefs and accessibility standards.
• Product innovation by ideating and developing digital products for FLI’s mission.
• Run multi-month initiatives such as international creative contests end to end.
• Steward brand coherence with the website development partner and design system.
