Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Program Specialist VII / Special Projects Coordinator in Kerrville, TX. This role manages high-priority initiatives, coordinates cross-department projects, and prepares legislative reports.

You will work under the SH Superintendent, lead or participate in committees, and serve as a liaison during the legislative session, with telework not eligible and a strong emphasis on policy execution and improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year university with a major in psychology, sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or a related human services field.
• Three years of project management experience in a human services setting.
• Equivalent combinations of education/experience per the agency criteria.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, initiate, and complete assigned projects and workgroups for the State Hospital.
• Prepare and coordinate legislative and executive reports and briefings.
• Represent SH at meetings and manage cross-department coordination.
• Serve as a liaison during legislative sessions and monitor mandate implementation.
