Job summary

Border States Industries, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of complex customer projects from Phoenix, AZ.

You will interpret specifications, determine material strategies, manage risks, and ensure profitability. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to deliver on time and within budget, while navigating pricing and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.
• 3+ years of customer service, quotation or sales experience with strong knowledge of electrical products and utility systems preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and make decisions on complex project and technical issues.
• Experience managing project financials, pricing strategies, and vendor negotiations.
• Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and develop project execution strategies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and applications, alternate product substitutes, and supplier pricing policies preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Account Managers and sales staff to develop project execution strategies and ensure profitability.
• Oversees projects involving substations, power transmission, wind/solar energy, data Telco, HV industrial, commercial, or residential construction.
• Manages customer support, issue resolution, expediting, pricing, and follow-up to align with project requirements.
• Develops and manages project schedules and adjusts plans based on risks and customer needs.
• Ensures cost alignment with profit margin goals and coordinates with finance for billing.
• Interprets bid requirements and negotiates pricing and delivery terms within guidelines.
